CERTIFICATION |
To become a Certified EMDR Therapist you need to have first completed an Approved Basic Training course. While not a requirement to practice EMDR, taking the step towards certification means that you will deepened your knowledge, master the basic protocol and met the requirements and ethical standards set out by EMDRIA. Your EMDR practice will develop in quality, intention and skill. Also, if you choose to work towards becoming an EMDRIA Consultant I can support as you navigate your journey and develop your niches.
Please inquire about my consent and outline that will guide the process for certification. See here for EMDRIA requirements: https://www.emdria.org/emdr-training-education/certification-faqs/ |

"I have had the pleasure of knowing Michelle Gay for since 2010. She is a truly outstanding human being, and one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and skillful clinicians and EMDRIA approved consultants I have encountered. Michelle was instrumental in my path to become a Certified EMDR Therapist, and her guidance has been invaluable to me. I recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone seeking the highest quality therapy and those seeking to enhance their practice of EMDR Therapy."
-CK “I feel grateful to have Michelle as my teacher, mentor, and colleague. She is a highly skilled and wise clinician. When I decided to upgrade my level of knowledge and became a Certified EMDR clinician, Michelle provided all the hours, direction, and skills needed to meet my goals. It was such a pleasure to have Michelle guide, teach, and facilitate my EMDR Certification.” -KM "Ms. Gay has shown herself to be a highly ethical and culturally sensitive therapist, who is bright, intuitive, and compassionate. I believe Michelle to be a significant asset in the role of consultant to the EMDR community of professionals." -SN "Michelle was present, knowledgeable and had a warm presence during the basic EMDR in-person training I took. She was responsive to questions and provided insightful feedback. And while her presence was warm and helped create a safe learning environment, she also was honest and direct (in a good way) so I felt like I could grow as a clinician." -GS "I appreciated Michelle’s gentle approach. She explained concepts clearly and responded to questions thoughtfully and patiently. I think because I had her early on, it was extra helpful that she was so gentle and that it truly felt like there was space to ask questions – nothing would be deemed too silly or a dumb question. That sense of being held and encouraged was extra important at the start as we were all still finding our footing." "She is clear very well versed in the practice and had excellent suggestions. Her gentle nature created a very safe space quickly which was very appreciated and tremendously helpful to support learning for new practitioners." " Michelle offered really thoughtful guidance and feedback and I learned something from the discussion of every case discussed." "Michelle Gay was an excellent consultant with a calm and relaxed presence. She assisted in directing us when we weren't sure to proceed from desensitization to installation. I learned the installation and body scan can clear up anything we didn't in the desensitization. Very knowledgeable. Thank you!" "Michelle was very knowledgeable and helpful. Really enjoyed her instructions and sharing of her professional experiences. Continued to develop more understanding and willingness to keep practicing. She answered all of my questions and was very present during the practica." "Yes! Beautifully prepared! Michelle answered all of our questions. I really appreciated the feedback on timing of BS, how to use the wand, the use of intensives, changing the direction of BS and why, and how the higher level of dot may help process earlier memories. Thank you so much, Michelle!" "She was great! Calm and collected and clearly knows her stuff. " "Michelle was great; she was available for questions and provided guidance right when we needed it. She also offered feedback on cognitive interweaves that was very much appreciated." "Michelle is an excellent consultant!
